Recap of Respect and Kindness Week

Sydney Roberts

The week of February 28, was respect and kindness week at Brighton High School.

The week was filled with relaxing activities.

On Monday there was a hot cocoa bar in the morning. On Tuesday there was a mediation at all lunches; this was nice for students to go and clear their minds. A yoga class was held by an instructor at the Brighton Yoga Center after school. Donuts were given out on Thursday before school. The last event was the Brighton Unified Team playing Hartland.

Respect and kindness is always important. At all lunches there was a banner that students could sign to show that they pledge their kindness and respect. When students would do this, they could enter a raffle to win a therapy dog.

Spirit days are something fun to look forward to.

To start off the week, Monday was pajama day. Following the comfy idea, Tuesday was hoodie day. To spruce things up, Wednesday was favorite outfit day. Thursday had no designated spirit day.  For the Unified game, it was bright colors.

To end the week off, the Unified Game was on Friday. Since it was the spirit day of bright colors, the gym was so bright and positive.

Unified is amazing to bring people together. Everyone cheered for both teams; it was such a positive environment. It doesn’t matter who wins, everyone just has fun!
