National Honor Society Application Time

Sydney Roberts

The National Honor Society (NHS) applications are open for all current juniors.

To apply you must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5. For juniors that received this grade point average, there was an email sent out on February 25 to apply. To receive a spot, students must fill out the application as soon as possible.

The National Honor Society has a commitment to 4 pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.  The pillars have been associated with the membership of the students in the chapter since the year 1921.

The application asks students to fill out what their co-curricular activities are, this could be described for the character pillar. It also asks about leadership positions the student has had. Another thing the application requests is community activity. With a pillar being leadership, NHS wants to know the work experience, recognition, and awards that the student has received. Lastly, a brief statement is required about why the student should be picked for the National Honor Society.

The application needs to be printed and physically turned into NHS adviser, Kimberly Andersen’s room F40. The deadline is March 23 at 2:35 pm.
